Alternate Investment Funds (AIF) provides investors access to non-conventional investment strategies, such as Private Equity, offered by financial institutions within a framework that is governed and regulated by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

These are generally closed-ended funds offered with different investment objectives and requires a 1+ Crore commitment from investors, invested over a 1-year period with a lock-in of 3 years from the date of last installment.
